China Datang released 2019 Social Responsibility Report
On July 27, CDT released its 2019 Social Responsibility Report to the public. This is the 14th report released by CDT since 2007.
2019 is the year when China Datang fully embarked on a new journey of building a world-class energy company. The report grasps the features and requirements of the times, and demonstrates China Datang‘s responsibility in promoting sustainable development from six aspects, namely pursuing value creation, building a solid foundation for safety, committing to green development, activating innovation, strengthening international cooperation, and creating a better life. The report presents the actions that China Datang has taken to promote sustainable development as well as the effects they have brought about from multiple perspectives. The report spans from January 1st to December 31st, 2019. Part of the content exceeds the above time range and has been extended.
The report shows that as of the end of 2019, China Datang's installed power generation capacity reached 144GW, and the total power generated in 2019 was 545.4 billion kilowatt hours, with a total profit of 12.063 billion yuan.
It also illustrates that China Datang vigorously promotes green development. As of the end of 2019, all coal-fired generating units have installed desulfurization and denitrification facilities, and the capacity of ultra-low-emission coal-fired generating units has reached 97.04%, which is leading in the industry. In 2019, 4,210MW renewable energy started construction and 2,430MW renewable energy was put into operation, the best level in history. The proportion of clean energy has increased year by year, reaching 36.26% by the end of 2019.
The report also elaborates on the actions and performance of China Datang and all sectors of society to achieve common progress and win-win situation. China Datang actively responds to the Belt and Road initiative, unswervingly implements "going glbal" strategy, and strives to achieve common development with partners from all over the world, with projects distributing in 13 countries along the Belt and Road. CDT has held corporate open days for 13 consecutive years. As of the end of 2019, the total number of open companies reached 365 (times), and nearly 80,000 people from all walks of life entered Datang to feel the elegance and vitality of modern energy companies. The "Datang Star Clas" event has been held for three consecutive years, and delivered science lectures to 25,000 primary and middle school students, which has received positive recognition at home and abroad.
As a member company of the United Nations Global Compact, China Datang benchmarks the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and responds to the concerns and expectations of all sectors of society. The report launches responsibility case stories, which enhances the vividness and readability of the content; at the same time, the introduction of "QR code" extended reading and links to some influential media reports in 2019 improves transparency.
