Shen Yueyue Visits China Datang’s Subsidiary in Cambodia
Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, visited China Datang's subsidiary in Cambodia,?along with a CPPCC delegation?to Cambodia on Nov.?23.
During her visit to the company, Shen extended solicitude?and support to Chinese and Cambodian employees and received a briefing on the company's operations and development in Cambodia.
Zou Lei, a CPPCC member and Chairman of China Datang, also joined the visit.

Noting that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road?Initiative?and also the operation of the China Datang Cambodia power grid and?hydropower?projects, Shen emphasized the importance of implementing the?eight major steps to support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, which were announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Shen also expressed her expectations for the role of Chinese SOE?in high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. She encouraged enterprises to follow China's new development philosophy and contribute to China's vision of building an ecological civilization by pursuing green and low carbon development and laying emphasis on the idea of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
Enterprises should develop a deep understanding of the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, and closely integrate their own growth with the development of the countries they operate in to achieve mutually beneficial and win-win outcomes, Shen said.
Great attention?should be paid?to the green and low-carbon development of projects throughout their entire life cycles, said Shen, who stressed that enterprises?should shoulder their responsibilities and carry out?systematic?management of projects for eco-friendly development.
Enterprises should fulfill their social responsibilities and try their best to?help improve people's livelihoods in countries they operate in, Shen noted. She encouraged Chinese companies to enhance people-to-people bonds?by?helping local communities with projects in key areas such as education and healthcare.?
